Let's Start at the top - I will be working in the British Pound.

1 Galleon is Equal to; 17 Sickle or 500 knuts in the Wizarding World. In the Real World, a Galleon is equal to about Five British Pounds, as stated by J.K. therefore, Wizarding money is worth a lot more than Muggle Money.

1 Sickle is Equal to; 29 Knuts in the wizarding world, in the real world a sickle is equal to 29 british pence, again stated by J.K. and this once again shows the value of Wizarding Money over Muggle Money.

1 Knut is equal to; 1 Pence. And considering wizards have three forms of money instead of two, i'm guessing a knut is really worthless to a Muggle.

I hope this helps you understand prices and pay.
